The Rural Writer is a blog and content writing business with its roots firmly in the countryside. I write on a huge range of topics
I live on a small farm in County Durham where I keep a handful of sheep and poultry. I also have three horses who I try to compete when the British weather allows (read: not very often).
As a customer of many rural businesses and an avid social media user, I discovered a need for skilled, experienced writers who work in and understand the rural sector and who can produce the innovative and knowledgeable content businesses need to engage their customers. With huge numbers of content agencies being city based, or based abroad, it can be a tricky to find the right people for the job.
Away from the farm, I’ve built a career in writing research bids, strategy documents and business reports for a wide range private and public sector businesses including: Durham University, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service, as well undertaking project management contracts here and there. I also hold a diploma in Media Studies, a BA (Hons) in English and Creative Writing and a Master’s degree in Creative Writing.
I’d found a small hole in the market and realised I had the skills and desire to fill it, so an idea was born. You’re looking at the result!
If you think I can help you and your brand, please get in touch. I’d love to hear from you.
